Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update Finally Arrives Following Its Delay

The Next-Gen Update Makes Fallout 4 More Stable

Now, let’s talk about the contents of the next-gen update. For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players, the game will now have native applications. Not only that, but the update also brings stability improvements and fixes.

Finally, players can now also choose between Performance mode and Quality mode in the settings. This allows players to experience up to 60 FPS while playing the game, as well as play in increased resolutions.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players, on the other hand, will receive a free update with stability improvements, as well as fixes to login, as well as some quests.

As for PC players, the next-gen update will allow players to play Fallout 4 in widescreen and ultra-widescreen setups, as the game will now natively support said monitors. They will also receive fixes to the Creation Kit, as well as a variety of quest updates.

Additionally, those who play Fallout 4 on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG will receive stability, bug, and mod fixes. As for the Chinese and Japanese language players on PC, they will receive an update that fixes Bethesda.net login issues, which fixes access to mods.

Various Free Creation Club Items Will Also Be Available

Other than the next-gen update, Fallout 4 players will also receive various Creation Club items for free.

The first is the Enclave Remnants, which introduces the Enclave to Fallout 4. This introduces a new quest to the game: Echoes of the Past, which has the player stopping the Enclave “from spreading their dangerous ideology and gaining a foothold in the Commonwealth.”

Alongside the quest, players will also be able to receive workshop items and the Enclave Colonel uniform. They will also receive the following previously released Creation Club content:

• Tesla Cannon
• Hellfire Power Armor
• X-02 Power Armor
• Heavy Incinerator

Players will also receive the Makeshift Weapon Pack, giving players access to weapons created by the smart minds of the post-nuclear apocalypse wasteland. This includes weapons such as a baseball launcher, a nail gun, and a piggy bank.

Sadly, the Next-Gen Update Will Make A Lot of Fans Sad

Although the Fallout 4 next-gen update is something that should be celebrated, it will sadly be a source of sadness for a lot of fans. Specifically, players who have been waiting for Fallout London to come out will now have to wait some more as the mod is now indefinitely delayed.

The mod, originally scheduled to come out on April 23, 2024, “stand to just simply break” once the next-gen update becomes available. This includes the mod’s dialogue system, updated UI, perk system, and more.

Dean ‘Prilladog’ Carter, the project lead of Team FOLON (who is behind Fallout London) said that they will release the mod “as soon as we’ve fixed it”. When that will be, however, is currently unknown.
