Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has expressed interest in the USA national team post.
ESPN says US Soccer have contacted the former Crystal Palace manager and talks have been held.
Further discussions are yet to be held, but Vieira is 'intrigued' by the prospect.
Vieira has previous experience in US soccer, having been head coach of New York City FC. He believes the US's young team has great potential and can make a big splash at the 2026 World Cup.
Anthony Hudson has been acting as caretaker coach since Gregg Berhalter left the job before Christmas.
