Former Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare has given his thoughts on Simone Inzaghi and the unlikeliness of Ciro Immobile joining Inter Milan.

The former Biancocelesti executive spoke to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it.

Former Lazio Sporting Director Tare is someone who has a lot of experience with Inzaghi.

The Albanian was in his post as Lazio Sporting Director for the entire time that the current Inter coach was in charge in the Italian capital, more than five years.

During that time, Inzaghi built a strong Lazio team. He did so with the help of Tare, who masterminded the Biancocelesti’s transfer strategy.

Inzaghi played a key role in developing players like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Luis Alberto, and Adam Marusic, to name just a few.

It was also Inzaghi who got the very best form out of Italian international striker Ciro Immobile. The former Torino and Borussia Dortmund equalled the record for most goals in a season under Inzaghi.

It was his stellar work with Lazio that really built Inzaghi’s reputation as a coach.

And that was what earned Inzaghi a move to Inter. He left the Stadio Olimpico for the San Siro in the summer of 2021.

And while things haven’t always gone perfectly for the 48-year-old at Inter, the overall trajectory has been extremely positive, as he has made good on the promise of his time as Lazio coach.

Igli Tare On Simone Inzaghi & Ciro Immobile – Inter Rumours

Responding to Inzaghi thanking him in his acceptance of the Bulgarelli Prize, Tare said that “I was very pleased to hear what he said.”

“The journey he’s had has been a source of pride for us,” the executive went on.

“Partly because it’s also the fruit of what he learned while he was at Lazio.”

“We’re happy to see him win the Scudetto,” Tare said of Inzaghi.

“Inter were the best team in the league. They dominated from start to finish.”

Of Inter reaching the Champions League final last season, Tare said that “That final was the consecration of the awareness that team had of having reached a very high level.”

“The whole atmosphere, after Istanbul, had a certain weight off its shoulders.”

“Before Istanbul, perhaps, people didn’t give the path Inzaghi was on enough credit. Even if it had already been brilliant, with quite a few trophies.”

“That’s why having patience pays off,” Tare added.

Meanwhile, the former Lazio Sporting Director also addressed the possibility of striker Immobile joining Inter from the Biancocelesti.

“He’s an important player for Lazio,” he said when asked about the possibility of the 34-year-old joining Inter. “So I think that it would be very difficult to take him away from them.”
